OUR FOUNDER

Dr. Claudie Pascal wearing a black scrub top with a logo on the sleeve, a gold watch, and earrings, standing with her arms crossed against a white background.

The Mouth Really Matters all started with a booth…

I was invited to set up a table to share the connection between oral health and heart health, and something clicked. What if there were a resource I could point people to for the explanations and practical tips we do not always have time to cover in the clinic? What about the people who rarely make it to a clinic at all—because of fear, limited access, or misinformation? The conversations I had that day confirmed how much people want this information. Being able to direct them to this space was incredibly gratifying.

Welcome! I’m Dr. Claudie Pascal!

I'm so glad you're here. I love paying attention to the details and finding meaningful ways to simplify and enrich the lives of others. Health care has always been the perfect space for that, and being a dentist, educator, and public health advocate lets me do all of those things at once.

My passion for health equity actually started earlier, during my time at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, where I earned my B.S. in Biology. From there, I went on to Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California, where I trained to be a dentist who sees the whole person — not just the mouth. Over the years, my journey has taken me through community health centers, mobile dental units, school-based programs, free clinics, and mission trips across the U.S. and overseas. And honestly, meeting people where they are has been the most fulfilling part of this work.

…but my passion for service was born long before…

I believe…

  • Prevention is one of the greatest forms of healthcare.

  • Small habits create lifelong impact.

  • Oral health is an essential part of overall health.

  • Everyone deserves access to understandable, evidence-based information.

  • Education empowers people to make informed decisions.

  • Compassion and science belong together.

  • Progress matters more than perfection.

My passion is to bring value to patients, healthcare providers, and anyone who wants to learn more about health, equity, and prevention.

The Mouth Really Matters is a growing extension of that passion: a place to make oral health education clearer, more compassionate, and more accessible.

Thank you so much for being here. I truly hope this supports you, and please don't hesitate to let me know what would be helpful to you.
